Each cruise line has its own amenities and features, but then again, almost all of them have many things in common. If you’ve never been in a cruise before, chances are you will be overwhelmed of the choices and things you can do inside the ship. This entry will help you narrow your options to enjoy the cruise the best way you can. Here are the basic things to expect in your first cruise:
Accommodations
- Cabins range from cheapest to ridiculously expensive. You can choose from interior (no window), balcony, ocean view, suite (bigger room w/ balcony, which is obviously expensive).
- Phone access and internet are both readily accessible, but they can be real pricey too.
Food and Drinks
- There is always fine gourmet dining served every night at cruise ship’s restaurant, but like a hotel room, you can always ask for room service, they’re available 24/7. There are also lunch and dinner buffets. High end specialty restaurants offers, have their added costs.
- There will be at least 1 or 2 Formal nights throughout the voyage where guests are asked to dress up for a formal dinner. Of course, you always have choice to skip it and do the buffet.
- Most cruise ships, if not all, give passengers as much water, coffee and tea as they can drink. Alcoholic beverages though are for sale.
On Board
- Every cruise ship has desk space and pools where passengers can lay out and tan.
- Spa and Gym are also available for fitness buffs. Cruise ships also hold exercises classes, and wellness services and facilities such as massage, manicure and Jacuzzi.
- Casino gaming is also available for everyone.
- Kids programs to keep your kids busy, allowing you to enjoy all the things you want.
- Nightly Entertainment such as comedy and Broadway/ Vegas style is available nightly.
A cruise ship is like a complete little town that offers all the kind of fun and entertainment you need while enjoying your voyage at the sea to your destination.
